The legal profession is built on the principles of knowledge, information sharing, and continuous learning. This study explores the critical role of knowledge sharing among lawyers in Yobe State, Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of libraries as information hubs that provide resources for continuing education and foster community building among legal practitioners. The research addresses the multifaceted challenges that hinder effective knowledge sharing, including individual factors such as personal motivation, organizational factors like institutional culture and support, and technological barriers affecting access to resources. By highlighting the significance of libraries in this ecosystem, the study aims to enhance the overall knowledge-sharing landscape within the legal sector in Yobe State. A quantitative approach was employed to investigate knowledge sharing among legal practitioners. The study focused on the 187 registered lawyers with the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Yobe State, comprising 106 private lawyers and 81 state counsel lawyers. Data were collected using open-ended questionnaires, and results were presented as simple percentages to describe the distribution of responses. The findings provided valuable insights for legal practitioners, library professionals, and stakeholders interested in improving collaborative practices within the legal community, thereby promoting a more knowledgeable and professionally skilled legal workforce.
